Bones of the Nutcracker (in LA)
December 7 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
$25We all know the most important part of the Nutcracker is the music – more specifically, the trombone part. No?! You DON’T know that to be true?! Well let me elucidate. The most important part to ME is the trombone part and I want to share it with the world. Random? No! There’s an entire ballet, nay, an entire INDUSTRY around a nutcracker – a sort of scary, holiday decoration that doesn’t even crack nuts. So if that can exist in this world in all of it’s glory, so can a show that highlights the trombone part of a brilliant Tchaikovsky score. After all, Beethoven did say that the trombone is the voice of god.
Fear not, this will not be a stuffy recital, it will be a glorious telling of the dreamscape of Christmastime with all the old favorites- presents, snow, barmy relatives, mice, treats and a cup of cheer! Oh yes! And some of Los Angeles’ funniest comedians to tell the tale! It’s not a ballet, it’s not a play, it’s a magnificent pageant with something for everyone! Join the celebration December 7th and 8th at the Lyric Hyperion!
