A STAN IS BORN! by Alexis Sakellaris (in NYC)

June 7, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$12
  • « Todd Macabre (in LA)
  • Live at the Barbershop (in NYC) »

After a sold out Soho Theatre show and a 5-star run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, London-based international comedian Alexis Sakellaris (@alexis_sakellaris) makes their hometown debut with A STAN IS BORN! (@astanisbornshow),an original musical comedy about a queer kid’s obsession with pop divas and the search for the diva within!

Directed by Madison Cole, this musical comedy romp with 10 original songs charts you through Alexis’ drastic move from NYC to… rural Germany. Ugh. Becoming absolutely OBSESSED with pop divas is their only salvation. Céline, Whitney, Mariah, Beyoncé, Aretha… you name ’em, they got ’em. A true STAN.

Stuck in the middle of nowhere, Alexis makes it their mission to get the German townspeople to become stans too, all while trying to find the real-live divas around them. Join them as they navigate the culture clash and find out what it truly means to be a stan… and how it may not be so good for you after all.Does this queer Bo Burnham have what it takes to be… a lil gay diva?!
