Eric Idle’s new book, Idle in Provence: A Brief History of Thyme, is as it should be: completely and wildly funny. When he was in his late 20’s, as Monty Python was taking the world by storm, he visited Provence. And so began his love affair with France.  In Idle in Provence, we get history: his own, his family’s, the Romans, the French, cuisine, his friends, you name it. It’s loving, fantastically self-deprecating, and it reveals just how critical to his work — and to his happiness — his “shackeau” in Provence still is. His time in Provence really does reflect the brightest side of life.

Eric Idle will be joined by fellow satirist “Weird Al” Yankovic. “Weird Al” is the best-selling comedy recording artist of all time. He’s won five Grammys, and several Emmys. After over 40 years of performing, he’s still selling out massive arenas.
