Dave is a 38-year-old ShopRite carts guy in Bensalem PA, fourteen months into a rough stretch of failures, setbacks, and humiliations he thinks of as “Dave’s Darkness.”

When a bizarre moment in a grocery store parking lot briefly pulls him out of his self-pitying spiral, Dave starts trying to make sense of everything that led him here — and where he can go next.
