DEAD FATHER, STEPFATHER, GIRL FATHER — A COMEDY SHOW BY A CHINESE QUEER KID (in NYC)

March 30 @ 9:30 pm - 11:00 pm
$20
  • « The Zebra Room (in LA)
  • Improv Jam @ Westside Comedy Theater (in LA) »

It has been three decades since this only child from China began longing for approval and affection from multiple father figures—one deceased, one failed, and one who turns out to be more than just a father.
After violence, grief, disappointment, and rebuilding, she/they begins to wonder: as a queer feminist, does one really need a father figure at all? After all, she has spent her entire life fighting patriarchy—personally and politically.

Moving between China, the U.S., and in between, Taiwan, she starts to imagine fatherly love anew.

This is a queer story.
This is a queer story about love.

This is a queer story about community love.

Show runs 70 minutes in both English and Chinese language.
