Lil Old Woman (WIP) (in LA)
Written & Performed by Veronica Osorio (me)
Fresh from the most life-altering experience a person can go through, no, not getting your country seized by U.S.A… having a baby. Veronica Osorio (me) is staging together a new hour.
Ok, realistically, she’s been mostly nap-trapped.
Breastfeeding. Pondering mortality. Eating donuts. Wondering if her daughter will care that she once met George Clooney. Imagining her future old self reviewing the evidence of a life lived: the poetry, the abandoned dreams, the risks taken, the risks postponed, the parts of people she absorbed along the way, and the ongoing fuckery of Venezuela.
In this hour, Veronica plays that old lady. Reviewing her life.
A foreigner. A mother. A clown. A woman auditing her own myth.
Will Venezuelan chaos be resolved?
Will the pounds?
Will the art matter?
Will the baby remember?
WHO AM I?
This is a work-in-progress solo clown show exploring motherhood, identity, immigration, ambition, regret, and the absurdity of legacy.
In this hour, she is that old lady.
Probably.
