A Pre-Teen’s Guide to Dating (in LA)
When Tirosh Schneider was 12-years-old, he wrote and performed a solo show called “The Pre-Teen’s Guide to Dating.” He still has the video of that performance. Now, he’s going to revisit that video – as well as his old songs, stories, and other humiliating artifacts from his past – to figure out: What did his younger self have figured out that his 32-year-old self doesn’t?
Tirosh Schneider (He/They) is a Berlin-born, LA-based actor, writer, and educator, who has performed all over the country and once in a cafe in Paris. They’ve performed sketch comedy as part of UCB’s Maude Night for the past three years, and is currently on the team “Clever Girl.” They have performed on television in NBC’s “American Auto,” Apple TV’s “Little America,” and in Hulu’s “High Fidelity,” as Lame Hipster Dude, the part they were born to play. Their original plays have been given productions in New York and LA, and their play “Daniel: The He/They Play” won the 2022 NYU Goldberg Prize for Playwriting. They’ve received praise in The New York Times, The Village Voice and from their middle school theater student who said, “Why do you dress like that?”
