Clowns of Color Present: The Roux (in LA)

The Roux, presented by Clowns Of Color, is a day-long event that begins in an open-air block party with backyard party vibes and ends with a comedy show that features talented artists of color performing clown, improv, drag, stand-up, and more! This event aims to celebrate Black and other BIPOC talent, business, and creativity providing a space that is for the culture and for those who wish to support and share in it with us. You know what they say, the darker the roux the deeper the flavor, so bring all your people out for food, fun, & foolery…come taste The Roux and help us make this a 21st night of September to remember!

Clowns of Color are a vibrant and bold comedy duo based in Los Angeles, composed of DeShawn Ball and Jamonte Williams. Their act is best described as “audacious comedy” that blends absurdity, satire, and physical humor—challenging norms around identity and representation. They were recently named the 2025 company-in-residence at The Elysian’s Vault in Frogtown, where they regularly perform character-driven, boundary-pushing clown shows.
