Outlaw Country – A Table Read of An Original Pilot (in LA)
January 18 @ 9:30 pm - 11:00 pm
$12“Outlaw Country,” is an original drama series created by comedian and TV writer Olivia Grace, and YOU are invited to a live table read of the first episode!
Olivia created this series and the fictional band it centers around as a vessel for her and her friend’s unbelievable stories from a life on the road as touring comedians. Our characters face a litany of scumbag bookers, drug dealers and murderers as we watch them attempt to claw their way from obscurity to glory while touring the US, wanting to leave their mark on the 1970’s outlaw country music scene without killing anyone or themselves.
The goal of this live read is to bring the pilot to life for a night with a group of road-hardened comedians reading for the recurring roles.
LOGLINE – Wendy Walker, the ambitious fiddle player in country icon Old Bill Walker’s touring band, decides to step out of his shadow and become a star in her own right after Bill nearly succumbs to an overdose. Wendy takes control of his band and his business, which includes a cast of unsavory characters who all want an undeserved piece of Bill’s larger-than-life legacy.
- Olivia Grace as the resentful, ambitious fiddle player and wife of the band’s lead singer, Old Bill
- Jesse Joyce as the band’s hard-drinking, cocky lead singer, Old Bill
- Ed Greer as the band’s bass player and Wendy’s secret lover
- Ron Swallow as the band’s slimy, fast-talking manager (and everybody else)
- Amber Nelson as Bill’s ovrehearing mother; an insecure matriarch whom everyone just calls “Ma”
Starts 9:30PM PT
