Avital Ash Workshops Her Suicide Note (in LA)

Ever since she was a little girl and her birth mom took her own life, Avital has felt summoned to the other side, aka the vast nothingness. But who wants to turn into their mother? Plus she’d hate to be labeled a copycat. Avital Ash’s Fringe debut explores growing up a Hasidic Jew, depression, generational Holocaust trauma, sexual assault, and queerness, all while being hilarious. The results are an irreverent show where Avital expertly bounces from black humor to one-liners to jokes so silly you almost miss the gospel in them.
