Cackle Freaks is the midnight movie of improv shows. We play the weirdest, wildest clips from horror films and LA’s best comedians turn them into scenes on the spot. Think ASSSSCAT with a twisted genre spin.
Every show opens with The Cackle Freak, a washed-up monster man from the 1995 Stuart Gordon movie CASTLE FREAK, interviewing a horror icon. That’s our Scream Royalty for the night, and past royalty includes Barbara Crampton, David Dastmalchian, Doug Jones, Adrienne Barbeau, David Howard Thornton, Felissa Rose, Barry Bostwick, and more. Then the cast performs chaotic comedy from the horror clips. We always close the night with horror trivia onstage and prizes from our friends at Discount Cemetery.
It’s a pure celebration of the genre! Bring your horror friends. Bring the friend who covers their eyes. Both will have a great time. We’re the midnight movie of improv shows!
